compostable diaper service manual

In using Diaper Stork's diaper service, you are agreeing to the terms described in this document, The following terms are effective Feb 10th, 2023.

Rental Agreement
  • Diaperstork is providing a temporary compost service to its customers and selected community members within the existing Diaperstork service area.
  • This service, which is currently in a testing phase, includes delivery and pickup of diapers that would be composted in a pilot-scale commercial facility. Upon successful results, our goal would be to offer a permanent compost service in Washington State. Ongoing service after the grant period is not guaranteed.
  • After extensive examination of disposable diapers available, we have not found a 100% compostable traditional diaper on the market. We would be commercially composting the majority of the diaper provided, and the non-compostable portion would go to the landfill. At the same time, we are looking for innovative solutions to reach our goal of a 100% compostable diaper.
  • Please do not compost diapers in backyard compost bins, or put in your municipality compost bin.
  • You would need to use the baby wipes we provide for the subscription service so that they can be composted with the diapers.
  • For this temporary study, we cannot sell or give away the resulting compost due to liability and permitting.
  • We would make every effort to compost diapers collected for this study. During our test, if the volume of diapers is greater than the capacity of the pilot-scale commercial facility capacity, the additional diapers would be disposed of in a landfill.
  • During the testing phase, we reserve the right to change diapers brands. We do not expect any adverse reactions to the diapers that we provide; however, if your baby experiences any negative reaction to the diaper, please stop using immediately.
  • Data, information, and composting process developments from our testing phase is owned by Diaper Stork and its subconsultants.

Your service starts on your first pick-up date. As soon as you start using your diapers, you must contact Diaper Stork to schedule your first pick up. Recurring billing is every four weeks.
