about us
Diaper Stork is the Puget Sound's trusted resource for sustainable diapering and a leader in environmental education for families. Diaper waste has become a growing concern for communities, making up 3 percent of landfills. Each baby can generate more than 6,000 diapers, enough to fill 18 dumpsters, before potty training. Diaper Stork was created to offer a better path for parents that supports sustainability and promotes near zero-waste solutions without adding stress to daily routines. We currently provide both cloth and compostable diaper services, along with eco-friendly products and potty training support, to help families reduce waste and make environmentally responsible choices from the start. In addition, we leverage community grants to research, test, and implement innovative disposal technologies that can reduce, and one day eliminate, the carbon footprint caused by diapers. As a mom-owned business, we are committed to offering convenient alternatives that benefit babies, parents, and the planet.

Carrie - Owner
Becoming a mom for me meant being faced with new decisions: natural birth or epidural, expensive organic cotton or not, pacifier or cry it out, making my own baby food or taking a nap … the list goes on. One choice that came easily for me was cloth diapering my daughter. Through my cloth diapering journey it got me curious as to why more parents weren’t doing it, especially since I know how much Seattlites consider sustainability one of their core values. So I started asking other parents about their diaper choice discovering that many people weren’t familiar with the modern version of the cloth diaper and the added convenience of a service. The seed was planted. How can I help make sustainable choices more mainstream?
