Our Biochar Partners | Diaper Stork

biochar distribution

seeking farmers, landscapers, land managers, and resellers

Biochar Container Diaper Stork is working hard to keep diapers out of landfills. Thanks to an Industrial Symbiosis grant from the Department of Commerce's Climate Commitment Act, we're testing a process called pyrolysis to turn plant-based diapers into biochar, a valuable byproduct for carbon sequestration and soil enrichment. Our efforts also won us the "Best Innovation Pitch" at the 2025 NextCycle Innovation Showcase.

With our "Diapers to Biochar" program underway, we're now seeking additional partners in the Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia areas who are interested in acquiring biochar for farming and other landscape needs. Please contact us if you are interested and we'll send you a spec sheet.

What is Biochar?
Biochar is a carbon-rich material produced through the pyrolysis of organic matter, which has been recognized for its ability to enhance soil fertility by improving nutrient retention and can also be used in water filtration. One of the most exciting aspects of our grant is the ability to explore biochar processing as a diaper waste solution.
